Aerospacelab breaks ground on europe's largest satellite manufacturing facility

Aerospacelab, a rapidly expanding satellite manufacturer, has embarked on the construction of its future Megafactory, signaling a significant leap forward in European space capabilities. The groundbreaking ceremony held on May 16 marked a pivotal moment in Aerospacelab's growth trajectory and laid the groundwork for what is poised to become Europe's largest satellite factory.

Europe's satellite manufacturing hub

Aerospacelab's Megafactory, situated in Mont-Saint-Guibert, Wallonia, is set to become the third-largest satellite manufacturing facility globally, with a production capacity of up to 500 satellites annually. Spanning 7,000 square meters of production area, including 4,000 square meters of clean room space, the facility represents a cornerstone in Europe's quest for space exploration and innovation.

Esteemed stakeholders graced the groundbreaking ceremony, including State Secretary Thomas Dermine, Minister of Defense Ludivine Dedonder, Vice President of Wallonia Willy Borsus, and The European Space Agency's Head of Ventures and Financing Office. Their presence underscored the significance of Aerospacelab's Megafactory in enhancing Europe's space capabilities.
