Wallonia is set to launch a new Fast-Track administrative procedure aimed at simplifying processes for select companies. This initiative, spearheaded by Minister of Economy Willy Borsus as part of the Recovery Plan, aims to streamline bureaucratic hurdles hindering strategic business projects. The pilot phase of the Fast-Track procedure will be tested in various key administrations, including Forem, Wallonie Entreprendre, Awex, Ifapme, and SPW, with the objective of enhancing the region's appeal to businesses.

Fast-Track: streamlining administrative processes

The Fast-Track procedure is designed to eliminate administrative barriers that impede strategic business projects, with the goal of extending its benefits to all companies in Wallonia. In order to remain competitive and attract investments, Wallonia recognizes the importance of administrative agility and simplicity. Minister Willy Borsus emphasizes the significance of administrative simplification in attracting foreign companies and revitalizing the region's economic fabric.

Implementation of swift measures in SPWs

In addition to the Fast-Track pilot phase, Wallonia is implementing swift measures to enhance its attractiveness to businesses. These measures include promoting trust in relationships with businesses, automating administrative processes, enhancing SPW agents' understanding through internships in businesses, facilitating multilingual procedures, and promoting existing informational tools. These measures will be gradually implemented by September 2024.

Testing phase in june

The Fast-Track procedure will undergo testing starting in June and will be open to select "high-potential" business projects. These projects will benefit from close supervision, aiming to avoid bureaucratic delays. To qualify as "high-potential," projects must meet specific criteria, including being multi-actor, generating a minimum of 20 direct jobs, and involving a minimum investment of 10 million euros. Additionally, administrative agents will undergo internships in businesses to improve understanding and strengthen ties between administrations and private enterprises.
